Ali Akbari

Dr. Ali Akbari is a Professor of Economics with broad experience in research design and methodology. He is an articulate urban economist with more than two decades of teaching and research experience. His latest project was the development of an economic and business forecasting model that provides quarterly forecasts of economic activities in the major cities of Ventura County.

He is currently a Professor of Economics at California Lutheran University. He has been teaching at other universities such as: Pepperdine University, California State University at Los Angeles and University of Southern California. His latest book chapter "Diversity in Information Technology Education: Issues and Controversies" was published in 2005. He is the Co-Director of Innovative Research Group, a local research organization dedicated to the conduct of cost-effective research projects for local businesses and governmental agencies.

Dr. Akbari is the Director of the Center for Economic Research at California Lutheran University. As an experienced researcher, he has participated in various research projects on national and local levels. Dr. Akbari is a member of the American Economic Association and Western Economic Association. His specialized areas of teaching and research include: Urban and Regional Economics, Research Methods, Public Opinion and Consumer Surveys, Image Evaluation, Consumer Satisfaction Studies Community Needs Assessment, Social Impact Studies, Tracking Studies, and Housing and Transportation Analysis.
